Sexual and Gender-Related Disorders refer to conditions that affect an individual’s sexual functioning, preferences, or gender identity. These disorders can lead to distress, interpersonal difficulties, and impact overall well-being.
- Gender Dysphoria
A marked incongruence between one’s experienced or expressed gender and the gender assigned at birth, causing significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other areas of life.
- Erectile Disorder
Persistent difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance, leading to distress and reduced sexual satisfaction.
- Female Sexual Interest/Arousal Disorder
Reduced sexual interest, thoughts, or physical response in women, which causes personal or relationship distress.
- Male Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder
Persistently low or absent sexual desire or thoughts in men, causing significant distress or interpersonal difficulty.
- Genito-Pelvic Pain/Penetration Disorder
Persistent or recurrent pain during intercourse, fear of pain, or difficulty with vaginal penetration, often leading to avoidance of sexual activity.
- Paraphilic Disorders
Involve intense and persistent sexual interests outside of culturally or socially accepted norms (e.g., voyeurism, exhibitionism, fetishism) and cause distress or harm to self or others.
