Anxiety & Related Disorders
Anxiety Disorder is a common mental health condition characterized by excessive worry, fear, or nervousness that interferes with daily life. While occasional anxiety is a normal part of life (like before a job interview or exam), anxiety disorders are more intense, persistent, and often irrational.
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Persistent concern over routine matters (job, health, relationships) even when there isn't much or any cause for concern.
- Panic Disorder
Panic attacks are sudden, recurring experiences of extreme terror accompanied by physical symptoms such as shortness of breath, palpitations, or chest pain.
- Social Anxiety Disorder
An intense fear of being judged, embarrassed, or negatively evaluated in social or performance situations, leading to avoidance and distress.
- Specific Phobias
Severe phobia of a particular thing or circumstance (such as spiders, flying, or heights).
- Separation Anxiety Disorder
Overwhelming fear of being apart from loved ones, which is especially prevalent in children but can also strike adults.
- Agoraphobia
Fear of places like crowds or open areas where it could be hard to get out.
